Apex Credit Management Awarded Investors in People Gold Status
People are the heartbeat of all businesses and Apex Credit Management is delighted to have been recognised for energy and investment with the accolade of Investors in People (IiP) Gold status, the highest level of recognition. This latest recognition for Apex strongly reflects the overall strategy of the business. Looking after its growing team and treating all those in debt fairly and ethically is central to the business approach. To support this and embed the company’s ethical values has required a significant investment, but it is one the business is proud to have made.
Investors in People has long been acknowledged as a highly effective framework for business improvement through people, providing valuable evidence internally and externally of an organisation’s commitment to excellence. The approach to IiP status has recently changed, with a greater focus upon tailoring the assessment to individual organisational circumstances. At the same time the framework has been extended to provide ‘stretch’ for all businesses who can now work towards achieving the core Standard level or the recently added Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Apex Credit Management is one of the very first to have achieved the Gold standard. To put it in context, there are around 23,000 organisations that have achieved the IiP standard; only 1% achieved Gold status and this included Apex.
Apex Credit Management’s CEO, Neil Clyne, observes: “Our continuing success and growth is a combination of factors, but none of them would mean anything without the people in Apex delivering day in day out, listening and helping our customers, delivering the type of innovation and personal service that the market requires. It would be all too easy to point to our class-leading technology as the key to our business model, but the reality is that it is people who make everything really happen”.
In order to achieve the core standard, Apex Credit Management was assessed against 194 evidenced requirements from the extensive IiP framework. The Apex Working Party, led by Becky King, Head of HR and Learning & Development, worked hand-in-hand with the business to facilitate the process; “Everyone in the Working Party played an active role to support this project and their contribution is much appreciated. The sense of pride I have for our workforce cannot be conveyed into words. In so many ways, their enthusiasm for IIP reflects the day to day inclusive culture that really is part of the Apex DNA” notes King.
Following assessment, the business was found to have significantly exceeded all of the standard requirements to achieve the elite Gold status. Neil concludes; “This achievement is without doubt a great testimony to the way the whole team at Apex works together to be the very best they can be at an individual and collective level. We have reason to be very proud, but we are not resting on our laurels and will continue to seek out new ways to improve every part of our business, not least of which how we invest in our people”
